Feeling very stress today!

I have so much to do and so little time. I just have today and tomorrow to get a million things done. I am definitely feeling the pressure at work trying to get everything packed so I can ship to Aspen. I am coordinating an event for 60+ people and they are all presidents and above to major airlines. The pressure is definitely on as I have to make sure everything is perfect and everyone is well taken care of. On top of all that I have my home I have to leave in order. Like I mentioned before, my little one is having her SAT testing on Monday and I am trying to prepare her for this testing plus getting her regular homework and studing done for this week test. Last night I did not have the energy to even try to make any cards. I did visit a stamp shop during lunch and picked up a penny black stamp (Greetings). I figured I'll stamp a bunch of images and while I am on my trip I can have fun coloring them. Well girls, I will chat with you all later tonight. I have a ton of working I need to start working on.

It's A Girl Thing!

I don't know about you, but I just love handbags. I picked up these stamps at a Scrapbooking and stamping expo I attended a few weeks ago. The stamps are by Danami Designs. I have quite a few of Danami stamps. Her stamps are fun, girly and elegant.
Below are the materials used to put my card together.

White cardstock
Black cardstock
Danami stamps (purse trio)
Danami stamp borders (trio)
Very fine glitter
Flower gemstone by Made by Me (Target)
Paper: Bright pink by The Paper Co.
Ink: Versa fine, black onyx
Glue foam dots for the purses
Tombow markers and colored pencils

I visited our SBS12 forum last night and I just love it. Elizabeth and Dawn did a great job putting it together. I love the swap idea. I am just having a hard time deciding which stamp to use for my swap. I am going to try to get this together before my travel on Friday so I can mail my stamp images to Dawn no later than next week. I have a full schedule this week trying to get all my housework done before I leave and also working with my daughter to prepare her for her SAT testing which starts on Monday. Well girls, thanks for visiting and I will chat with you all later today or tomorrow. I forgot to mention, we are having a heatwave here in Florida. The temperature is suppose to go up to the 90's today which is unsual for this time of year. Normally in February the temperature is anywhere from the 70's to low 80's. Too bad I am at work and not at the beach enjoying this beautiful day!

My first challenge

I was browsing the Splitcoast Stampers site and came across all the challenges they post on their blog site. It was very interesting and fun to look at all the wonderful sketches along with other peoples creations. After seeing everyones wonderful work I figured I will give it a try and start participating in their challenges. This card was made using the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast.I started with a simple sketch, SC160. The stamp used was from Danami designs and I stamped it with versa ink (black onyx). The ribbon is from Michaels craft and I used emerald green paper from paper reflections and a green with stripes also from paper reflections. I colored the chicks with tombow markers and than added the fluff from Denami designs. My daughter just loves this card. Using the fluff gives the chicks a fuzzy texture. First I had to put a little crystal lacquer on the chicks than added the fluff. I also added some glitter from Denami designs to the balloons. I'm happy with my first challenge, I wish had more time to get more creative but with the little time I have I become brain dead by 10:30 pm or so. I'm traveling on a business trip on Friday to Aspen and plan to take some of my stamping stuff to work on during the weekend. I have a big event that starts on Sunday but plan to do some stamping and coloring on my down time. My evenings will be free since I don't have to do any school work with my daughter while on my business trip. I'm taking my laptop with me so I will still continue to post and chat with all my Sisters while on my trip.

Huggybella

I had some free time today since I had a conference and was released early. I decided to do one of my bellas. This is the huggybella. I plan to give this card to my best friend next month for her birthday. She loves the colors brown and green together so I thought it would be a good idea to use those same colors on her card. Not sure if I am going to have time tonight to do any cards but I do plan to read and catch up on some blogs.

Thanks for visiting!

Winobella

I am so glad its Friday! I am sure there is alot of us out there that feel the same way. My first grader gets so much homework that most of my evening goes in doing homework, studying sight words and spelling words, plus math work given during the week to prepare for Fridays test. On top of all that we have to read for 30 minutes. Most of the time I am done by 8:30 or 9:00pm. Once I am done with her I clean up the mess from dinner and than I finally have my time which is about 10:30pm or so. This is the time I use to do any of my card creations. I try to be in bed no later than 11:30pm. As you can see I don't have much time to do anything but I try my best to squeeze in some craft time. Last night I finished my winobella card. I had so much fun putting this card together. Like I said before, I just love doing character cards. I colored a few more winobellas I plan to put them together this weekend. I used the following material to put my card together:

Towbow markers and glitter pens for the wine glasses and the wine bottle.
Paper: Michaels (The Paper Co.)
Black
White
Red starburst translucent

Proxy Flower by making memories
Clear gemstones by heroarts

Advice on taking better pictures

Okay, I go to others peoples blog and I see they all have nice pictures of their cards or scrapbooking pages. It seems all the photos I take look dark and blah! Not sure what I am doing wrong. If I put the card in too much lighting it comes out looking too white if I put it in moderate light it looks dull looking. I need some suggestions on taking better pictures of my cards. I worked on these two last night. I know some of my sisters left me comments on the cards thinking they are bellas, the stamp used on the cards were made with the mimi stamps from Danami designs. I did stamp some bella stamps last night, I stamp winobella, I stamped about three of them and plan to color them tonight and maybe even put a card together. In my opinion, I love the character stamps, especially the girly ones. I stamp a few for my six year old daughter last night of winobella and she just sat there and colored away. This was our quiet time last night after an hour or so of homework and studying her spelling words.

My Mimi card

Life is beginning to feel like normal again. These past couple of weeks were really long and stressful. Last night I was able to finish up my mimi card. Sometimes I have a hard time picking the background paper. Not sure if its because I don't have the right variety of colors and patterns or if I am just being picky. Well I colored mini with watercolors pencils and than gave it a little touch with the extra fine glitter. I went to a scrapbooking and stamping expo about a week ago and purchased a few glue pens. They are the best. You outline whatever you want to add glitter too than you sprinkle your glitter on top. Works great in small areas. I was able to start on another mimi card. This one is too cute, its mimi at the spa with her two friends. I will post it tomorrow, I still have to finish it. I haven't heard from any of my sisters today. I hope to hear from them soon!

What a weekend!

First of all I promised to give an update on the birthday party I have been planning for the past two months. Well the party finally took place on Sunday. The theme was Strawberry shortcake. Between my daughter and I we made the centerpieces and the thank you cards. They came out really nice. With everything that I had going on I did not take a picture of the centerpieces. I am sure my daughter did, once I get a hold of it I will post it. The party was a huge success. We had about 90+ people there and all our family members did the cooking. I was on my feet from 7am till about 11:30pm or so. I was so tired that I was extremely cranky by the end of the day. I hate to be like that I just wanted a bed and a massage on my feet. I got the bed but not the massage. I had planned to make a couple of cards yesterday but I really had no energy. I was still tired from the party and had to get some house cleaning and yard work that left me little time to have fun. I did manage to put a card together about 10pm after everyone went to bed. I had made this card before at a workshop I had attended but gave it away to a friend. I liked it so much I wanted to do another one so I can add to my collection of samples.

Its Friday!

Boy am I glad its Friday. Its been a long week for me. I'm planning a big event for next month and finalizing all the small details has me exhausted, not to mention the planning of my grand-daughters birthday this Sunday. I plan to take it easy on Monday and hopefully squeez in time to make a card or two, maybe even three. I hope to hear from more of the sisterhood 12 so I can get to know them all. I hope all you sisters had a Happy Valentines Day yesterday. I decided I did not want to go out and wait 2-3 hours at a restuarant. Instead my hubby and I made a nice dinner and spent it with the family. Here is a card I made using the same butterfly stencil except I just kept it very simple, I loved the look, simple and elegant. Not sure if you can read the wording on the card, it says Let's Chat!

Some of my creations!

This is one of the cards I made last week. This week I haven't done much since I'm helping my daughter with the planning of my grand-daughters birthday, she turns 1 on Sunday and we are throwing a big party. I will make sure to post some photos of the party on Monday. Stay tuned! In doing this card I used the dry embossing method and cut out the little critter. In creating my cards I never really jotted down what I used or the steps to put them together. Now that I am blogging more and I am also part of a sisterhood I plan to jot down all the details so I can give more of a description of my cards.

Sisterhood 12 of the Blogging Stampers

While reading some blogs at splitcoaststampers I received a blog reply from Crafty Tracey. Little did I know that logging on to her blog I was going to be lead to a whole new world of blogging. I clicked on the link for Sisterhood and signed up immediately. I am new to blogging and was hoping to find a place where I can connect with a few people and get to know them and share our passion for scrapbooking and rubber stamping. I am excited about this sisterhood and I can't wait to start exchanging stories, ideas, inspiration from all my sisters.

Stamping bella stamps

I just received my new stamping bella stamps. They are the cutest stamps ever. Since they were a gift from a friend they were ordered unmounted. Since I am a new stamper, all my stamps are mounted. These stamps came unmounted. I need to figure out which is best the acrylic blocks or purchase the wood blocks. Seems this stamping thing always has me on a mission. I made two cards last night that I need to download unto my computer so I can post. One of the stamps were from Denami Designs, I loved how the card came out. I personally think it was not bad for a newbie. Let me start my download and we will chat later.

Trying to get visitors to my blog

Okay, I have finally figured out how to get my photos posted. I also figured out how to change my blogger template now for my next project. How do I get visitors to my blog post. I would like those that share the same scrapbooking and rubber stamping passion to come by and visit my post and to also share their comments with me. Let me do some snooping around to see how I figure this baby out. Stay tuned!

My first card

Okay, I finally figured out how to ad images. Here is my first card made using the H2O colors I was telling you abut. I love the colors. I plan to do another card this week using the H2O colors I purchased this weekend. Wish me luck, my first card was made with my instructor Lynn by my side. I plan to do my next H2O card solo this time. I have a total of 18 colors to play with. Stay tuned!

My first blogging post!

I finally took the step and set up my blog. I am hoping my daughter helps me with making it pretty for me, I am not too crazy with the blog colors. I've been scrapbooking for 3 years now and making cards for the past month. I love making cards and I’ve starting the stamping thing which my daughter and I are having lots of fun with. Its funny how I can be so creative with my scrapbooking pages and when it comes to making cards it takes me a while to set a template. I guess the small space I have to work with kind of freezes my brain. I'm getting the hang of it. Once I figure out how I can attach photos, I will attach a photo of my very first card. I used the twinkling h20 colors. Pretty interesting, I've never been good at painting anything and I was pretty impressed with this card. I was so impressed I make two of them, one for me and one to give to a friend. If there are any new bloggers out there I would love to hear from you.
